To the Susan Ferguson
Family,
I would like to
thank you for the $500 scholarship you awarded me on May 7, 2004. It was
quite a shock to me, and such an honor! Even though I had never met your
Susan, every time I hear her quoted or spoken of, it is with love and
admiration. I feel very blessed to be your first scholarship recipient.
I almost quit the
LPN program during the year because of family demands, commuting, finances
and under-confidence. But receiving this award honestly made me feel like
it was all worth it.
I know Susan made a
difference in a lot of lives and I hope through this scholarship she can
continue as she did with me this year.
I would imagine it
must be bittersweet to you in your loss, but I hope you can feel peace in
your endeavors on Susans behalf. This will definitely inspire me to become
the best nurse I can in her example and in her memory.
